Ontario’s Kathleen Wynne is about to make history as the first sitting premier to march in Toronto’s gay pride parade. Wynne, Canada’s first openly gay premier, says that the celebration is “always very, very moving” and that it is a yearly tradition for her and her partner to participate in the Pride and Remembrance run, to attend the Sunday church service, and enjoy the parade. She also understands the importance of this for the LGBT community, especially for young people who are sometimes excluded from family events based on who they are. Each year, Toronto’s gay pride brings nearly a million people to the streets of the capital city. If you can’t make it this weekend for the parade, next year the city will host World Pride.  [CTVNews]
